Antiwar campaign of the Ecumenical Humanitarian Organization and the Vojvodina independent weekly “Nezavisni”
The advocacy campaign started in the first month of the NATO bombardment , in April 1999 with the aim to allert and call the attention of the international public on the destruction of the bridges in Novi Sad and on the effects of the bombardment.
More than 100.000 postcards were prineted, showing the bridges in Novi Sad before and after the bombardment. The text on the back was:
Pozdrav iz Novog Sada gde Dunav teče iznad mostova.
Greetings from Novi Sad where the Danube flows above the bridges.
Akcija Ekumenske humanitarne organizacije i vojvođanskog građanskog lista »Nezavisni« protiv rata i razaranja.
Action of the Ecumenical humanitarian organization and the Vojvodina independent weekly«Nezavisni« against war and destruction.
After the bombardment, the campaign was continued, using the same postcards, but with a revised text, as a campaign against the isolation of Serbia and for building bridges:
Akcija Ekumenske humanitarne organizacije i vojvođanskog građanskog lista »Nezavisni« za izgradnju mostova između obala i ljudi.
Action of the Ecumenical humanitarian organization and the Vojvodina independent weekly«Nezavisni« to build bridges between people and river banks.
The postcards were sent to our international partners and donors , with the plea to submit them to politicians and other decision makers.
The photos were made by Martin Candir and they were prineted in Daniel Print, Novi Sad.
